Alfred is a handsome, affectionate, yearling kitty, who likes being held and spending time in your lap. This big boy almost cannot get enough petting from you. And though he is a nocturnal animal, as are all cats, Alfred is calm and quiet in his bed when it is 'lights out' time. No middle-of-the-night rollicking for this sweet boy.
When he was rescued, we could not understand why such a lovely cat was wandering the streets, following people, perhaps looking for a previous owner. Could have been that, but more likely he was looking and asking for food, as he was quite undernourished when we got him. Had he strayed from his home and lost his way back? Was he abandoned to the streets when someone moved and left him behind? No one filed a 'lost cat' report for him at the local shelter, and no one called to claim him after seeing our online listing, or the 'found' flyers posted in the area. As the song lyric goes, 'What's It All About, Alfie?' We probably will never know the answer.
So Alfred came to us for foster care, where his weight has increased with regular, good-quality meals. His health has been vet checked and he has been neutered, vaccinated, tested, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms. 'Alfie' is ready for adoption. He might make a good family pet, if children in the household are school aged (at least 10 or 12 years old), gentle and savvy about cats. Otherwise, he could be the perfect companion for a single person or a couple.
